My First Online Date
I was sitting at the bar when she showed up. Was I nervous? Sure. Did I bring flowers? Not this time. My first eHarmony date and she came up to me. I was sipping a seven and seven when I felt a tap on my shoulder…
“Jack?”
“Yes. Hi.”
“I’m Adele.”
Some sort of accent on her, but I couldn’t tell what. I was too busy taking in this new face, these new eyes, all of her. She was dressed casually but not lazily. She looked good but not made up.
We went to our table and sat down. The waitress came over but I didn’t hear what she said.
“The wine,” Adele repeated.
I ordered it. Candlelight flickered on her face, or it seemed to at least. I had to focus. I was on a date. But now I had to convince her to go on another.
