Boosting Alan’s Self Esteem- And My Chances
I was finally on the phone with Alan and had a bit of a surprise- he wasn’t jealous. He was insecure. I don’t know whyI wasn’t able to see it before. The whole time he’d been worried he wasn’t good enough. I had to convince him otherwise.
“You were great, Alan, great.”
He sighed into the phone.
“You’re just saying that.”
“I’m not!”
“Well, with Margo in the room at the same time, it would be a different story. Right?”
“No- One plus one is greater than two Alan. That’s the whole point!”
I didn’t know if he’d believe me. But by the pause on the other end of the line, I knew he was at least listening.
