“Hi,” I say, trying to duck into my car.

“Really? I haven’t met you before. But I see you a lot.”

“I also do some cleaning.”

“Oh that’s nice.”

She hasn’t caught on yet. But I don’t know any cleaning lady that dresses the way I do.

Boys! Beautiful, beautiful boys! Every time I walk these hilly streets, I find myself getting a sugar rush from all the eye candy. Is it just me, or is there something wonderful about this city this time of year, when we’re warmer than everywhere else and, if I may say so, looking a little hotter too?

I’ve foudn that the same is True on Singlesnet. All the cuties want to find a guy to take home for Christamas. I hope that I’ll get a chance to be their present! If they pick me, I promise to unwrap easily…

A cat! Yes, I know it’s a predictable get up. But I’m like any girl, I love to get dressed up and, yes, feel pretty. So I’m going to check out all the crazy parades and the parties.

But I couldn’t help but thinking: Is Halloween really that different? I live in a city where everybody is always dressed up, looking perfect, and walking alone.

On Halloween, everybody wears a mask.

But don’t they always?

I wouldn’t say we clicked. But even though we didn’t, I still felt better about myself. Excited. Energized. The date ended at 8.

I realized that it was because I was back in the game again. I still may be dead to Adele.

This weekend, we had two soccer games at the same time. At different fields. I asked James to drop off his kid, and even offered to do the same for his.

“We should both be with our kids,” he said.

“But I want to be around you.”

“I’m not debating it.”

We walked to the different fields separately. When it was over, James didn’t seem to think that anything was wrong. But I was still disturbed by it.

Why wasn’t he?

It’s the grocery store…

Every time I go I get the strangest looks. Well, not strange looks- salacious looks. I wonder why it is. Are men here not used to seeing a woman my age? Or is it because of the way I dress?

All I know is that if I ever need to settle down, I can just go to the grocery store. There seem to be plenty of men there who need a little help.

OK, so, if you’re a consistent reader of this wonderful blogger, you may remember that I’ve had dealings with young scholars in the past. I admit it- I’m hooked! I love the idea of college men looking up to me as their professor. And hey- I’m not that old. Right?

I don’t think I’ll be prowling college campuses for impressionable youth. But I will be prowling online dating sites- Singlesnet included. I can’t gurantee that I’ll find someone. But I’ll have a lot of fun looking. :).

People think that spring is romantic, but fall is my favorite month. You trade your summer dress for a jacket and instead of feeling the humidity, you watch leaves fall from the trees. That’s New York in fall. 

Here’s the corny part- it makes me think of an amazing scene in “Music and Lyrics.” OK, an amazing song. I plan to spend the next few days listening to this one on my iPod and, hopefully, living it out too.

I’m still recovering….

I’ve been wandering around the city. Going to our old places. Seeing the place where we first had sushi. Where we first kissed. Where I thought that I’d propose.

I’ve also been going to our old sites. The website, that is.

I didn’t think I’d be visiting eHarmony again. I’d be lying if I said that it was easy. Going on that site feels like betraying her, even though we aren’t dating any longer. I thought about deleting my account the second she said no.

But then I realized that eHarmony brought me one of the longest relationships I’ve had. So maybe- just maybe- I will be able to go back.

His son is normally an angel, I swear. But at dinner the other night, he was being ornery about eating his vegetables. I told him that he needed to eat them or he’d go to bed without dessert. And so that’s what ended up happening.

I thought it was reasonable, but James wasn’t sure. He was upset with me for not waiting longer. But what was I supposed to do? That night, we didn’t talk anymore.

I felt like I was the one being punished.

It’s been amazing. Everything iis so easy. Less traffic, less noise, and more time for love. I love it. Every time I go there to meet my man, I get a tingly feeling like I’m a girl again. And when I walk out of the house to go back to my car, I’m flirty, fun, and young again.

The only problem? I’m not crazy about the looks from suburban moms. That’s because they know their husbands might be next.

As this summer has dragged on, I’ve started to wonder more and more if online dating is ethical. Or if it even feels good.

Should I be jumping from guy to guy at the speed of a click? Should I be wandering from place to place looking for some temporary connection?

Sorry- I should have stamped a “deepness” alert on this post. But as I’m writing it, I’m starting to realize- maybe online dating isn’t the problem. It could just be…me.
